Celebrating Love, Family and Perseverance
As Christmas approaches I thought it would be very appropriate to dedicate this post to those who have had Love persevere throughout the years, 50 years to be exact.
This year and last year I had the privilege to photograph the 50th Wedding Anniversary of two couples, one in Germany and the other in Jamaica. Even though they might be different culturally, they shared the same reason and objective. They gathered to celebrate and honour a couple who have nurtured, inspired and made the family stronger. And together they sang, danced, ate and drank to even more years of joyous unity.
The couples, not as young as 50 years ago, were proud of their labor of love as children, grandchildren and great grandchildren participated in speeches and skits. One of them told me as she was tearing and bursting with joy seeing all her children had organised for them "you too can have all of this, just never give up on each other, its not easy, perseverance is the key".
